This position would be ideal for people with an interest to work with individuals who have a range of disabilities.
About the Role:
- To support people living in their own homes in their day-to-day living, ensuring that they have maximum opportunity for developing valued and valuing lifestyles.
- Provide opportunities for choice and control and participation in matters relating to the home as well as facilitating access to community services and facilities
- To provide support as required for all household management; and activities of daily living based on Participants individual needs
- Facilitate community inclusion and participation to establish and maintain relationship and interests through access to community activities, venues and services
- Carry out and promote positive routines /duties/activities in a cooperative respectful and flexible manner, which are meaningful and purposeful to the participant
Duties may include:
- Overnight care and support
- Domestic support and household tasks
- Assistance of preparation of meals
- Support with assistive technology
- Support to appointments and grocery shopping
- Follow and adhere to Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Work as part of a team
Mandatory Requirements include:
- Available for sleepover and night shifts
- NDIS Worker’s Check (NDISWC)
- National Police Children Check
- Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Online Module – Free and Easy to obtain.
Preferred but not essential:
- Have the ability to work over 7-day roster, including evenings
- Flexibility to work across our various accommodation sites
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Australian Drivers License
- Manual handling training
- Administration of medication training
- Industry experience will be highly regarded
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent
- Experience working with challenging behaviours
